Model 2856 Solid State Theremin Upgrades
Electronic Upgrades:We are constantly striving to improve the quality of our products. Since we introduced the Model 2856 solid state theremin there have been several upgrades to the electronics to improve the overall performance of the instrument. Depending on the Serial Number of your instrument and the PC board revision level these upgrades may be as simple as the replacement of a few electronic components to replacement of the complete main circuit board. You need not be the original owner to qualify for these upgrades. We will provide these upgrades free of charge to any instrument. We only ask that you pay the shipping.
Tolex Cabinet Upgrades:
Offering colored cabinets covered with Tolex (vinyl) seemed to be a great idea at the time. In theory anyway, in practice- not so much. We have had inquires about the Tolex coverings coming unglued and delaminating from the cabinet. Our bad! It seems as though in this particular application Tolex was not the best choice for covering theremin cabinets. In an effort to still offer color options which are still very popular, we have gone to cabinets made of poplar wood which are dyed with alcohol based colored wood dyes and finished with traditional polyurethane varnish. We support our products 100%. We botched it- we'll own it! We want to make it right. If the covering on your Tolex cabinet is coming off we will rebuild your instrument into a new cabinet in any of the wood colors we offer or you may have it in your choice of one of our stock cabinet woods- Oak, Cherry or Walnut. Theremin Repair, Moog Etherwave, Paia, etc:
We offer full service repair on theremins from most all manufacture. From component level repair of the electronics to complete tuning and alignment of the oscillators. We gaurantee accuracy! All of our test and measurement instruments are calibrated annually by an A2LA accredited metrology lab in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.
